How to use DixonDesk
Setup, then a walkthrough of each tab in the app — the everyday workflow plus the parts that aren’t obvious from the screen.
Inventory
What you actually have on hand right now, viewable two ways: by item, where every variant and lot of a product rolls into one row — good for “how many of this do I have total” — or by lot, where every individual purchase batch stays separate with its own cost, good for tracking exactly which purchase a specific unit came from, since cost basis varies by batch.
•Receive… — records that a purchase has actually arrived, converting it from “ordered” into real, on-hand stock. This handles partial shipments as a first-class case: if fewer units showed up than were ordered, you choose what happened to the rest — still coming, cancelled before shipping, or genuinely short with or without a refund owed to you — and the dialog shows you, live, exactly how that choice changes the per-unit cost of what you did receive, before you commit to it.
•Seller refunded… — logs a refund from a vendor for that specific lot: the amount received and an optional note. This is the mechanical recording of a refund that’s already landed, separate from tracking one that’s still pending.
•Split lot… — breaks a multi-unit purchase into separate lots, for when items from the same order end up with different fates (one sold, one returned, one still sitting on a shelf) and need to be tracked independently from that point on.
